အေသာကရဲ႕ အကၡရာမ်ား-၂

H.G. Wellsက “ The Outline of History ”မွာ ဒီလို ဆိုထားတယ္…“Amidst the ten thousands of names of monarchs that crowd the columns of history, their majesties and graciousnesses and serenities and royal highnesses and the like, the name of Asoka shines, shines almost alone, like a star.”
ပါရဂူက “ ပိယဒႆီ ”မွာ ဒီလို ႐ွင္းျပတယ္...“သမိုင္းစာမ်က္ႏွာတြင္ ေနရာအျပည့္ယူထားသည့္ ဘုရင္ဧကရာဇ္ ေထာင္ေသာင္းမ်ားစြာထဲတြင္ ဘုရင္အေသာက၏ အမည္နာမသည္ တစ္လံုးတည္း ထြန္းေတာက္ေနသည့္ ၾကယ္တာရာႏွင့္ ပမာတူသည္။”

ဘုရင္အေသာက ဘယ္လိုမ်ား ထြန္းေတာက္ေနသလဲဆိုတာေတာ့ အကၡရာေတြမွာ ေျခရာခံ လိုက္ၾကည့္ရမွာပဲ။

၁။ သ၀တ ၀ိဇိတသိ ေဒ၀ါနံ ပိယသာ ပိယ ဒသိသာ လာဇိေန ေယ စ အံတာ အထာ ေစာဍာ ပံဍိယာ သာတိယပုေတာ ေကလလ ပုေတာ တံဗပံနိ။
၂။ အံတိေယာေဂ နာမ ေယာနလာဇာ ေယ စာ အံေန တသာ အံတိေယာဂသာ သာမံတာ လာဇာေနာ သ၀တာ ေဒ၀ါနံ ပိယသာ ပိယဒသိသာ လာဇိေန ဒုေ၀ စိကိသကာ ကဋာ မႏုသစိကိသာ စာ ပသုစိကိသာ စာ။ ၾသသဓာနိ မႏုေသာပဂါနိ စာ ပေသာပဂါနိ စ အတတာ နထိ။
၃။ သ၀တာ ဟာလာပိတာ စာ ေလာပါပိတာ စာ။ ဧ၀ေမ၀ါ မုလာနိ စာ ဖလာနိ စာ အတတာ နထိ သ၀တာ ဟာလာပိတာ စာ ေလာပါပိတာ စာ။ မေဂသု လုခါနိ ေလာပိတာနိ ဥဒုပါနာနိ စာ ခါနာပိတာနိ ပဋိေဘာဂါေယ ပသုမုနိသာနံ။

မင္းတကာတို႔ ခ်စ္ၾကည္ ေလးစားအပ္၍႕ ပိယဒႆီဟု ၀ွ႔ဲခ်ီ-ခပ္ႏွိပ္ အ႐ွင္မဟာကႆပ မေထရ္ျမတ္၏့ ဗ်ာဒိတ္ေတာ္ကို ခံယူ-ရ႐ွိေသာ အေသာက မင္းၾတားျမတ္ႀကီး၏ ေအာင္ျမင္ အုပ္စိုးေတာ္မူရာ ႏိုင္ငံေတာ္တြင္း အရပ္ အားလံုး၌ကဲ့သို႔, ထို႔အတူ ေအာင္ျမင္စိုးပိုင္သည့္ နယ္စြန္ အတြင္း၌ ပါ၀င္ကုန္ေသာ ေစာဠတိုင္း, ပံဒု်တိုင္း, သတ်-ပုႀတၤတိုင္း, တမၺပဏၰိတိုင္း အထိ၄င္း, အံတိေယာဂအမည္႐ွိေသာ ေယာနကမင္းႏွင့္တကြ ထိုမင္း၏ လက္ေအာက္ျဖစ္ကုန္ေသာ သမႏၲရာဇ္ မင္းတပါးတို႔ ႏိုင္ငံ၌၄င္း, အလံုးစံုေသာ ဤတိုင္းႏိုင္ငံေဒသတို႔၌ မင္းတကာတို႔ ခ်စ္ၾကည္ ေလးစားအပ္၍႕ ပိယဒႆီဟု ၀ွ႔ဲခ်ီ-ခပ္ႏွိပ္ အ႐ွင္မဟာကႆပ မေထရ္ျမတ္၏့ ဗ်ာဒိတ္ေတာ္ကို ခံယူ-ရ႐ွိေသာ အေသာက မင္းၾတားျမတ္ႀကီးသည္ လူေဆးကုဆရာ, တိရိစၦာန္ေဆးကုဆရာ ဟု ဤသို႔ ၂မ်ိဳး ၂စားေသာ ေဆးဆရာတို႔ကို တည္ေထာင္ထား႐ွိေတာ္မူအပ္ကုန္၏။
ထို႔ျပင္ လူတို႔အား၄င္း, တီရစၦာန္ သား-ငွက္တို႔အား၄င္း အသံုး၀င္ေသာ ေဆးပင္-၀ါးပင္တို႔ကိုလည္း ထိုထို မ႐ွိ-ကင္းမဲ့ရာ အရပ္တိုင္း၌ ေဆာင္ယူ စိုက္ပ်ိဳးေစအပ္ကုန္၏။ ဤအတူလွ်င္ မ႐ွိ-ေခါင္းပါးေသာ အရပ္-ေဒသတိုင္း၌ သစ္ျမစ္-သစ္ဥႏွင့္ သစ္သီးပင္တို႔ကိုလည္း ေဆာင္ယူ စိုက္ပ်ိဳးေစအပ္ကုန္၏။ ထိုမွတပါးလည္း ထိုထို ခရီးလမ္းတို႔၌ သား-ငွက္ တိရစၦာန္ႏွင့္ ခရီးသြားသူ လူတုိ႔ နားခိုမွီ၀ဲ-သံုးေဆာင္ေစရန္ သစ္ပင္အစားစား စိုက္ပ်ိဳးထား႐ွိေစ၍ ေရတြင္းေရကန္တို႔ကိုလည္း တူး-ဆယ္ တည္ထားေစအပ္ကုန္၏။

နတ္တို႔ ခ်စ္ျမတ္ႏိုးေသာ ပိယဒသီမင္းႀကီး၏ ႏိုင္ငံေတာ္ အတြင္း အရပ္ရပ္တို႔၌၄င္း ႏိုင္ငံေတာ္၏ အစြန္အပ ေစာဋ(ေစာဠ) ပံဒိယ(ပံ႑်) သာတိယာပုတ, ေကလလပုတ, တံဗပံနိ(တဗၺပဏၰိ) အံတိေယာဂ(အႏၲိေယာက) အမည္ေတာ္႐ွိေသာ ေယာနမင္းႏွင့္ ထိုမင္း၏ ပတ္၀န္းက်င္ အျခားမင္းတို႔၏ တိုင္းမ်ားအတြင္း အရပ္ရပ္တို႔၌၄င္း၊ နတ္တို႔ ခ်စ္ျမတ္ႏိုးေသာ ပိယဒသီမင္းႀကီးသည္ လူတို႔အား ကုစားျခင္း တိရစၦာန္တို႔အား ကုစားျခင္းဟူေသာ ေဆးကုစားျခင္း ႏွစ္မ်ိဳးကို တည္ထားေတာ္မူ၏။
လူတို႔အဖို႔၄င္း၊ တိရစၦာန္တို႔အဖို႔၄င္း အသံုး၀င္ေသာ ေဆးပင္တို႔ကိုလည္း မ႐ွိေသးေသာ အရပ္တိုင္းတို႔သို႔ ယူေဆာင္ေစ၏။ စိုက္ပ်ိဳးေစ၏။ ထိုနည္းတူစြာ သစ္ျမစ္သစ္သီးတို႔ကိုလည္း မ႐ွိေသးေသာ အရပ္တိုင္းတို႔သို ယူေဆာင္ေစ၏။ စိုက္ပ်ိဳးေစ၏။
လူႏွင့္တိိရစၦာန္တို႔ သံုးေဆာင္စိမ့္ေသာငွာ၊ လမ္းတို႔၌ သစ္ပင္တို႔ကို စိုက္ေစ၍ ေရတြင္းတို႔ကိုလည္း တူးေစ၏။

ေဒ၀ါနံပိယ ပိယဒသီမင္း၏ ႏိုင္ငံအတြင္း အရပ္-ေဒသအားလံုးတို႔၌၄င္း၊ အျပင္အပ ျဖစ္ေသာ ေစာဠ, ပ႑ယ, သတိယပုတ, ေကရလပုတ, တမၺပဏၰိ, အႏၲိေယာဂမည္ေသာ ေယာနမင္းတို႔၏ တိုင္းျပည္မ်ား အတြင္း၌၄င္း ေဒ၀ါနပိယ ပိယဒသီမင္းသည္ လူႏွင့္တိရစၦာန္တို႔အတြက္ ေဆးကုဌာန ႏွစ္မ်ိဳးထား၏။ လူ, တိရစၦာန္ႏွင့္ သင့္ေလ်ာ္ေသာ ေဆးပင္တို႔ကိုလည္း မ႐ွိေသးေသာ အရပ္ေဒသသို႔ ယူေဆာင္စိုက္ပ်ိဳးေစ၏။ ဤအတူ သစ္ျမစ္သစ္သီးပင္တို႔ကိုလည္း မ႐ွိေသးေသာ အရပ္ေဒသသို႔ ယူေဆာင္စိုက္ပ်ိဳးေစ၏။ လမ္းခရီးတို႔၌ တိရစၦာန္ႏွင့္လူတို႔ သံုးေဆာင္ရန္ သစ္ပင္တို႔ကို စိုက္ပ်ိဳးေစရန္ ေရတြင္းတို႔ကို တူးေစ၏။

Everywhere within the dominion of His Sacred and Gracious Majesty the King, and likewise among the frontages such as the Cholas, Pāṇḍyas, the Sativaputra, the Keralaputra, what is (known as) Tāmraparṇī, the Greek King, Antiochos, and those kings, too who are the neighbors of that Antiochos—everewhere have been instituted by His Sacred and Gracious Majesty the King two kinds of medical treatment—medical treatment of man and medical treatment of beast. Medical herbs also, those wholesome for man and wholesome for beast, have been caused to be imported and to be planted in all places wherever they did not exist.
Roots also, and fruits, have been caused to be imported and to be planted everywhere wherever they did not exist. On the roads, well also have been caused to be dug and trees caused to be planted for the enjoyment of man and beast.
